The collection contains a letter from Oldham to Nelson Barksdale, the Proctor, 1819 April 3 proposing to undertake "carpenters and joiners work" for the buildings at the University of Virginia "for 5 cents below the standard referred to in your advertisement." In a letter to A. S. Brockenbrough, 1822 Deceber 4, Oldham submits an estimate of $12,000 for the carpenters and joiners work on the first floor of the library "including materials intire [sic] with the addition of the second story window frames + sashes." Also a "true copy" by William S. Eskridge of Oldham's suit against the Rector, Board of Visitors and Proctor of the University of Virginia for non-payment, 1823 November 20. Also arguments by A. S. Brockenbrough against Oldham's claims, and his objections to items in bills of Oldham, 1823.
